What makes the web so great is that it allows information to flow so freely. What makes it such a power of transformation is getting the right information to the right place in the right time.
Of course it doesn't always get it right, but when it does it changes your life (and it does it more and more often - try turning off the web and see how far you get without google or internet banking).
Here are a couple of resources that will change your life.
For just about everything that you are doing or experiencing there has already been someone who has experienced or solved the same issue. If you could access that experience then wouldn't your life be better?
Here are a couple of websites that publish information about such an esoteric range of subjects that it will make your head spin. Some of the tips are useful, some are so esoteric you hope that no one would ever need to use them, and some are tongue in cheek, but they are all entertaining.
www.wonderhowto.com publishes video tutorials on just about any how to subject you could name, from delivering a baby in an emergency to counting cards in blackjack. Of course there are useful subjects too like plumbing a sink or building a wall storage system.
from a business website it is great because you can use it to easily add value to your website by referring your customers to information that will be useful to them, like:
www.ehow.com is a less flamboyant site, with a range of written and video tutorials. Its useful too, maybe even more trustworthy, but at the end of the day its not going to tell me how to turn old underpants into a bra.
So my vote is for Wonderhowto, simply because the world seems a different place after you have browsed it.
Every time you post content on your website you are increasing the value of your website, both to your customers, and to the organic google ranking you display to google searches.
Every time you give something to a visitor or customer that makes their lives better, or easier, or just a little bit more interesting, you have given them a present, earning gratitude and leaving an impression - and thats a good thing!
