Engaging Acorn Web. How to begin

You need to bring three things to a meeting with Acorn:

  • Enthusiasm for your business or project
  • A plan for what you want to achieve with your website
  • A budget.

Enthusiasm

We are always looking for enthusiastic and proactive businesses to work with. We are interested in building only dynamic and successful sites – that always takes a partnership formed between us and the business which owns the site

Planning

  • Do some homework
  • Download our web strategy e-book.
  • Find and review the websites of some of your competitors
  • Find some websites that find inspirational – be it for design or functional reasons
  • Create a list of functional goals for your website
(If one of these goals is marketing then drawing up a description of your customers and their needs will help too).

Budget

  • A typical small business website will cost anything from $2,500 to $10,000.
  • Larger websites and web applications can be priced at $15,000 or more.

We can help organise finance if needed.

Engaging Acorn Web. How NOT to begin.

  • Having an unclear scope. While we’re happy to help people discover the true scope of their projects, sometimes we come across people who have very little idea of what they’re looking for. This is usually a red flag.
  • No budget. We feel that if you’re serious about hiring us, you’ll have some idea of what you’d be willing to spend.

We’re happy to assist clients to work out what they can achieve with their website. But the take away message here is that the more prepared a potential client is, the more likely we’ll be able to help him or her out, and the better the quality of the final product.
